Letter from the President

December 13, 2011

It is that wonderful time of year that we celebrate Christmas. It is a special time in which we give thanks for our many blessings and pray for the happiness of all.

We, at Crosby Fair & Rodeo, are especially grateful for the excellent year that we’ve had with our events. Not everything was perfect, but they were all successful.

Some much needed repairs to the arena roof will be getting underway in the very near future and we’ll also be making some repairs to the roof supports. Plans are being made to lower the stage on the West end of the arena to a more comfortable level for both the entertainers and the audience.

Rental of the facilities has continued to pay the day to day bills and still contribute considerable funds toward the Scholarship Fund. Those scholarships are one of our main purposes of Crosby Fair & Rodeo. Provisions have been made to insure their continuation in the future. As long as Crosby Fair & Rodeo is in existence, and beyond, scholarships will continue to be awarded to deserving Crosby High School graduates.

Again, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude to all our sponsors and volunteers. There is absolutely no way that we could even begin to do what we do without your support and cooperation.

Our next event is sponsored by the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Committee and will be a ‘Bras for the Cause’ on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the American Legion Building. This Committee has been in existence for 6 years and has contributed a total of $56,500.00 toward Breast Cancer Research, Education and Cure. We can proudly state that other than paying for actual expenses incurred, EVERY DIME raised has been contributed to our local chapter of the American Cancer Society. We’re looking forward to the support of all entities of the Crosby Community to participate and support the ‘Bras for the Cause’ event in February.

Spring Dance is scheduled for Saturday, March 24th at the Fairgrounds Pavilion. This is always a fun event and one of our greatest fundraisers of the year. The public is welcome! Entertainment and ticket availability will be announced at a later date.
