Welcome again to the Crosby
Fair & Rodeo Website.
Again, it’s time for all of us to get
started on making 2010 another record year for CF&R and
more importantly, making 2010 a record year for the Youth of Crosby.
The membership of CF&R
re-elected the same Board of Directors for 2010 as we had in
2009. We sincerely appreciate that vote of confidence in what
we are trying to accomplish for CF&R, our Youth and the
Community of Crosby.
Many changes will be made in the near future
to this website. New rules for the Fair, Cook-off, etc. will
be published as soon as they are available. The Fair rules are
complete and awaiting only a proof reading prior to their being
given to Raybourne for inclusion on the website. Entertainers
will be added to the site as they are contracted and the calendar of
events will be updated.
Your Executive Committee
has approved what is most likely the largest budget in CF&R
history. This puts the pressure on all of us to do our very
best in completing our assigned tasks and in doing our part to the
very best of our ability.
As some of you have noted, we have
completed security fencing around the facilities and hopefully this
will be a further deterrent to vandalism. We have purchased
100 new livestock pens for the hogs, sheep and goats and will be
making a trial installation of them in the near future. An
automated watering system has been purchased to assist in
maintenance of the arena. Two huge fans have been purchased
for underneath the arena. One will be placed over the beer
booth and the other immediately in front of the bandstand.
Hopefully these will only be the 1st of several that we can place
under the arena in the future.
We are extremely proud of
the fact that we were able to increase our five (5) annual
scholarships to $5,000.00. This amount is also retroactive to
those recipients that are still in college.
I’m sure that I have
forgotten to mention something. Should you have any questions,
please don’t hesitate to contact the office and if Shirley doesn’t
have the answer, she will certainly contact a member of the Board
that can and will supply one.
