FORTY DAYS AND COUNTING! That’s right! In just 40
days we kick everything off with the Cook-Off and Roger Creager on
Friday Night, June 5th. For the next nine days it will be fast and
furious around Crosby Fair & Rodeo.
I hope all of you have checked out this website and
gotten all needed information in regard to our events. Maybe
you’ve even already ordered your tickets.
We continue to hold our own in regard to Corporate
Sponsors during these trying economic times. We appreciate these
individuals and companies so very much. Without them it just COULD NOT
and possibly WOULD NOT happen. Due to the continued cooperation of our
many volunteers, a great membership in Crosby Fair & Rodeo, the
tremendous support of the Crosby Community, great Parents and above
all, a wonderful bunch of Crosby Area Youth to work with, the 2009
Crosby Fair & Rodeo will be another tremendous success.
Due to the reputation of our PRCA Rodeo Stock
Contractor, Scotty Lovelace of Classic Pro Rodeo, and the hard work of
Sonny Armstrong and his Rodeo Committee, Crosby has been designated as
a U. S. Smokeless Tobacco Rodeo for 2009. This means that in addition
to the $2000.00 per event ($4,000.00 in Team Roping), USST will be
adding another $475.00 to each event. With that and our membership in
the Heartland series of rodeos, we should be assured to have some of
the top cowboys and cowgirls and should have them in quantity. We truly
appreciate the support of USST!
Don’t forget to wear something PINK on Saturday
night, June 13th. That is Tough Enough To Wear Pink night and everyone
wearing a pink shirt, bandana, etc. will create a contribution to
Breast Cancer Research.
It is our sincere hope that each of you can attend at
least part of the events this year and Crosby Fair & Rodeo. I can
think of absolutely no place that you could take your entire family for
a night of wholesome entertainment for less money spent. Rick Larkin
and his Entertainment Committee have done a fantastic job with their
entertainment lineup and Shirley is getting calls and emails from all
over the country requesting ticket information.
Any time you get an opportunity to say “Thank
You!” to one of your Directors, please do so. These guys (with me
being the exception) are busting their tails getting all of the details
worked out, repairs made, etc in order to make the 2009 Crosby Fair
& Rodeo a continuing success.
Thanks to each of you. See you during the 2009 Crosby
Fair & Rodeo.
Russell Rogers
President.
