EACH ENTRY WILL BE ALLOTTED ONE 25X30 FOOT SPACE.
TEAMS MAY HAVE MULTIPLE SPACES.
***Multiple spaces entitles you to multiple entries.
Each entry will be given eight wristbands. Additional wristbands may be purchased for $10.00 each before 6:00pm on Friday June, 6.
Check in will start at 9:00am, Friday June 6, 2008.
After 6:00 PM Friday all Beer and Ice must be bought from the Crosby Fair and Rodeo.
Entry Fee $120.00
LIMITED TO 50 TEAMS
Port-A-Can's will be provided for $50.00 per unit advanced notice is required.
No outside Port-A-Can's will be permitted.
Any special requests should be presented to the Cook Off Committee for Approval.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

RULES
The Crosby Fair & Rodeo Association is not responsible for any accidents, thefts, or damages.
Entry fee will be $120.00 per space, multiple spaces entitles you to multiple entries.
Categories are as follows: Fajitas (Beef or Chicken), Margaritas, Chicken, Open Dish, Pork Ribs, Brisket and Showmanship.
Each team will be allocated at least a 25' x 30' space. All the team's property must be confined to their allocated space. You will be asked to move anything that isn’t in your space.
Contestants will supply all needed equipment and supplies. The BBQ committee will only supply space and turn in containers.
All contestants can start moving in at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 6. You must use area assigned to your team.
There will be a head cooks meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday June 6. All head cooks or a representative from each team must be present.
A schedule of events with turn in times has been supplied with your packet.
Each team shall be responsible for turning in their own entry, on time in the designated area.
All entries must be prepared on site.
No markings of any kind will be allowed on any entry containers. Any attempt to mark a container will result in disqualification from that competition event. Damaged or accidentally marked containers should be exchanged prior to that events turn in time. No exchanges will be made at time of turn in.
The containers may be the same size and type. It will make no difference which container you use as the taped sealed ticket, which remains with the container will determine your placement with the judges.
As required by state laws, no Alcoholic Beverages may be distributed to the public by contestants. No alcohol may be consumed before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
No vehicles will be allowed in or out of the cookers area after 6:00 p.m. on Friday. If you have supplies you need to get in on Saturday please contact a pit boss for assistance. Under no circumstances shall roadways be blocked after set up on Friday.
After 6:00 p.m. on Friday, All Beer and Ice must be purchased from the Crosby Fair & Rodeo Cookoff Committee.
The Committee will assign each cooking team a pit boss. Properly identified pit bosses will at all times have free access to the contestant's area. Any and all properly identified committee persons should not be refused admittance to any contestant's area. Problems with any pit boss or committee person should be reported to the committee chairperson.
No motor vehicles other than those used by the pit bosses shall be allowed in the cook off area.
Police Officers will be patrolling the grounds Friday and Saturday. If any trouble occurs please contact an officer immediately.
All cooking equipment must be off the Fairgrounds by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
No Pets will be allowed.
COOKING
Categories are as follows:
Fajitas (Beef or Chicken), Margaritas, Chicken, Open Dish, Pork Ribs, Brisket.
You should fill cup entry containers full and provide enough food in the plate entry container to feed at least 15 judges.
NO GARNISHING WILL BE PERMITTED EXCEPT FOR OPEN DISH!!!!
All contest entries must be prepared on site.
MEAT
Meat inspection and tagging will be on Friday June 6, 2008 immediately following the cooks meeting. Each team will be allowed to tag 2 Briskets, and 2 slabs of Pork Ribs per entry. All meat must be tagged before cooking starts. The tag shouldn’t be removed under any circumstances nor shall meat be cut until a committee member is present. If for some reason a tag comes out notify your pit boss immediately. Only meat from one tagged piece of meat can be turned in. IF THIS RULE IS NOT FOLLOWED, YOUR TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED IMMEDIATELY.
OPEN EVENTS
An Open Event is defined as an event that specific rules in regards to preparation and type of entry do not apply. For example; in an Open Dish and Sprit Mix the judges are instructed that these are open competitions and that each entry shall be judged on its own merits, but must be prepared on site.
JUDGING
NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING DURING JUDGING!!!
SHOWMANSHIP
A non partial committee will be selected by the Cookoff Committee Chairperson
to select the winner of showmanship.
DANCE AND WRISTBANDS
Wristbands will given out with your containers, you will be given 8 wristbands with each entry, and additional wristbands may be purchased for $10.00 each before 6:00 p.m. on Friday June 6, 2008.
ROGER CREAGER will be performing on Friday night under the tent. No one will be allowed to have their own band on Friday night.
AWARDS
All awards will be given out on Saturday June 7, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
MOVE OUT
Everyone must be out by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday June 8, 2008.
